Your initial appointment will begin with a brief familiarization tour of our office. This will be followed by a complimentary examination and a discussion of the apparent orthodontic problems and possible treatment options. Should treatment be required, we will then request obtaining a set of diagnostic records, consisting of study models, digital radiographs and photographs. 

General questions about treatment can often be answered at this first appointment. We’re happy to speak with you about the general differences between orthodontic treatments, as well as what to expect if you’re pursuing early, adolescent, or adult orthodontic treatment. However, developing a precise, individualized treatment plan is only properly developed by careful consideration of the diagnostic records. We believe in-depth examination and planning leads to superior results and high patient satisfaction.

Once the doctors have developed your treatment plan, the second appointment is for your personal consultation. The consultation will enable you to have a clear understanding of the:

• Diagnosis
• Treatment plan and options if available
• Estimated length of treatment
• Insurance coverage, if any
• Role you play in achieving your goals 

This is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have and get a better understanding of the treatment process. We offer a variety of treatment options for our patients, and your Oakland orthodontist will help you decide which is right for you:
